Deadlifts and weighted ring dips... and a little rambling

Another version of the "lynne" format:

5 rounds for reps of:
315# deadlifts
50# weighted ring dips

results:
deads: 12-13-12-12-11
dips: 8-8-8-7-7

This wod was very taxing, I was pretty messed up after... metabolically not muscle soreness! I didn't get a lot of sleep last night and I was pretty tired. But I drank some coffee, got a good warm-up in, and gave'er hell. I was happy with how consistent it went, I'd like to see the numbers higher, but you've got to take what you can get.
This is one of my goats and I feel like I have it tamed now which is a step in the right direction (check out: The taming of the goat- Alex cibiri). I will have more on training weekness' and goats, stay tuned for tomorrows post. For now I will talk about my personal goats, I used to have it narrowed down to a few things, one major one being the deadlift. I came up with many excuses about the deadlift: I'm short and have no leverage, I have no weight behind the bar, ect... but it doesn't matter, all that matters is that I need to get better at it and it will take some time. However, after reading The taming of the goat I feel like everything is my goat. I am never satisfied, If I reach my goal of a 265# clean and jerk I will not be happy until I can rep out 225# in a power clean and jerk. I guess it's just me instantly goal setting, which is good, but I feel like at the same time I don't have a glaring strength in CrossFit... I can put a positive spin on that though: it keeps me working very hard everyday... on everything. Maybe I'm trying too hard now lol. All and all today was a productive day and I definitely improved one of my goats in one training session. More on goats tomorrow.
